VEVA Mission and Projects

Education

We are creating a hands-on EV education program, initially as an independent study program for Vashon High School students.  Students will help plan and then actually convert a donor vehicle.

Electric vehicle charging infrastructure

We will advocate for and seek grants for outfitting key public parking areas with charging stations to accommodate a range of EV's.

Bike, trike and neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) road and trail infrastructure and road use policy advocacy

We will advocate making Vashon safer, friendlier and in general more accommodating to all types of electric vehicles, with emphasis on low-speed NEV as well as both powered and non-powered bicycles and tricycles of all types and sizes.

Custom EV conversions of gas-powered cars and trucks

We are creating a community non-profit business to do custom conversions of suitable donor vehicles, with emphasis on local education and green business tie-ins.

Island-sized EV product development

We hope to spin off a business that designs and manufactures bicycle-sized commuter and cargo vehicles more suitable to the geography, roads and usage patterns unique to our island home.
